Not much going on across the region on this Thursday morning. Skies are clear, wind is relatively light and the air is cold. Temperatures are down into the 20s for most locations. Wind chill values are in the low teens for the Rolling Plains. We will rebound today with plenty of sunshine and wind from the south-southwest at 10-15 mph. That south-southwest flow is going to bring in the warm and dry air. Lubbock will hit a high temperature of 67°.

We’ll get more clear skies overnight, but the wind will remain between 10-15 mph area-wide. So, low temperatures will not be as bad as what we’re seeing out there this morning. The low is going to drop to 34° in Lubbock. It will feel more like the low 20s with the wind chill. The afternoon will stay sunny and breezy, with that wind at 10-15 mph. We’re going to make it up to a high temperature of 77°. That warmth is ahead of a cold front that will move in on Saturday.
