Our dry spell is going to continue this week. We’re going to reach day number 82 since Lubbock as seen measurable precipitation. That number will easily reach 90 days, perhaps even more. La Nina is really taking a toll on the dry weather this winter. We’ll get light wind this afternoon, under sunny skies. The average high for today is 56° and we will make it to a high of 58°. That is really all to say about the weather today.
Overnight, things will not be as cold. We’ll remain below freezing, but only barely. Lubbock will drop down to 30° just before sunrise. The wind is going to increase a lot on Tuesday. It will be sustained at 20-25 mph, with gusts to 40 mph. I wouldn’t be surprised to see blowing dust tomorrow, just because it is so dry. We’re going to make it up to a high temperature of 70°.
