KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for Friday, 1.26.18.

TODAY: The week ends with warm weather. Morning clouds will gradually clear up and temperatures will rise to the mid to upper 60s. The forecast high for Lubbock is 67 degrees. Winds will be breezy at times, from the south at 15-20 mph. Fire danger is still elevated, especially on the caprock and into eastern New Mexico. Late tonight a cold front moves into the area. Most of the South Plains will stay dry, but some showers are possible in the Rolling Plains towards Abilene.

THIS WEEKEND: With the frontal passage late Friday night, temperature will be cooler Saturday. The sky will be partly cloudy, and high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s. By Sunday, the clouds fully move out and we warm up to a high of 60 degrees. Winds stay mostly light all weekend.
