A Lubbock woman, Samantha Hartfield, 37, was indicted last week after her children tested positive for exposure to amphetamines, and methamphetamines.  One of her children tested positive for exposure to cocaine, according to an arrest warrant.

The drug testing was described in a police report dated on October 10.

Hartfield had been arrested prior to that on a different case for possessing methamphetamines.  The police report indicated that even before the October 10 police report, the children had been taken from Hartfield and placed into foster care.

The charge is listed as abandoning or endangering a child.  It’s a state-jail felony – meaning if Hartfield is convicted, then she faces a maximum of two years in a state jail.

She was held Tuesday in the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds totaling $17,500.  Her other pending charges are for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
