Coach Tim Tadlock’s #19 ranked Texas Tech baseball team came to play for opening day in Starkville, Mississippi as the Red Raiders swept the day.  First baseman Hunter Hargrove was part of  Tech’s hit parade as they lit up Western Illinois 15-1 in the afternoon game.  Texas Tech would cap off the day with a 5-2 win over host Mississippi State.  Steven Gingery went seven innings giving up four hits, one run and striking out eight.  Texas Tech will play Western Illinois again tomorrow and close out the mini tournament with a rematch against Mississippi State on Saturday.
