Armed with a treasure map, where would the gold coins lead Wish Kid Angie?

She was about to find out, as the pirates and princesses at Gene Messer Chevrolet put together a treasure hunt for her. This special hunt was filled with lots of gold doubloons, selfies, and Angie’s favorite princesses.

Little did she know, her best friends and family were anxiously waiting for her to find where the x marks the spot.

“This was very special. She wasn’t expecting her best friend to be here. She didn’t know anything about this.” said Karlissa McMurtray, Angie’s mom.

Angie has been on dialysis for two years now and soon she’ll have a kidney transplant. She tries not to let her daily struggles slow her down.

“Hopefully she’ll be on the transplant list very soon. We have some potential donors that said they would give her her kidney. We have to get on that list before we can do anything.” said McMurtray.

At such a young age, she is good at making what she’s supposed to be eating and taking all her medicine.

So where did the treasure map lead her?

“I’m going to Disney World.” said Angie Straley, Wish Kid.

After she gets her kidney she’ll be able to run, play, and hang out with her favorite princess.

Her whole family and best friends in attendance this night to help surprise her with the dream vacation.

“I think it was important for Angie just to invite in as many people that care and love about her as possible. It’s a new environment maybe a little overwhelming so if we can invite friends and family to share in that special event hopefully she’ll have those memories for a long time.” said Michael Wims, General Manager of Gene Messer Chevrolet.
