The Texas Department of Public Safety worked a second fatal crash at approximately 6:30 p.m. on US 62/82 and FM 1585.
A Jeep that was traveling eastbound on US 62/82 and a Ford Taurus that was attempting to cross US 62/82 to travel west bound on to FM 1585 failed to yield the right-of-way to the Jeep and crossed into the path of the Jeep, being struck in the driver side door.
The driver of the Ford Taurus identified as David Holmes Peavey, 71, of Sundown, was transported to UMC where he was later pronounced deceased due to his injuries.
The driver of the Jeep is identified as Robby Lee Rodriguez, 29, of Brownfield, was transported to UMC along with two female passengers with incapacitated injuries.
