We’re just seeing thin clouds to start the day over in the Rolling Plains. They’re the remnants from the spotty, small storms we saw east of Lubbock in the evening on Thursday. This afternoon, the Autumnal Equinox is at 3:01 pm. It’ll be a warm afternoon, with mostly sunny skies. Lubbock is looking at a high temperature of 90°. Any storms that get going today will stay over in eastern New Mexico.
Overnight, expect to see increasing cloud cover. A Pacific low pressure system will be entering the area by tomorrow afternoon and it will change the weather through late next week. Saturday is going to be cloudy and cooler, but more muggy. We’ll see isolated storms, especially in the afternoon and evening at 20%. Otherwise, things will be cloudy, with a high temperature of 83°.
