New research from Europe indicated a connection between respiratory tract infections in young children and an increased asthma risk. Doctors tracked more than 150,000 kids and found cases of bronchitis, pneumonia and other chest infections doubled and even quadrupled the likelihood of developing asthma later in life.
Canadian doctors are recommending some older men have an ultrasound of the abdomen to screeen for aortic aneurysms. Previous research showed men are four times more prone to aortic aneurysms which can rupture and cause death.
Banning children from using off road vehicles cuts down on hospital visits. Researchers found a Massachusetts law that restricts anyone under 14 from operating an off road vehicle cut emergency room visits in half.
