The 2017 West Texas “Cars for Canines” Car Show and Fundraiser is being held on Saturday, September 9th.
The event will run from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot of United Supermarket, Indiana & FM-1585, Lubbock, Texas.
The car show which is sponsored and hosted by Caprock Classics and AVR Classics is open to all cars, trucks, motorcycles and specialty vehicles. The entry fee for the car show is $35.
There will be child-friendly booths such as the South Plains SPCA game booth, the Cars for Canines Kids Korner, and the TC Reptiles education booth. We will have an array of other vendors for you to shop from or inquire about their services such as: K9CareLbk, Rocking Paw Dog Training and Kennel Suites, Lone Star Insurance Group, Eleganz Pet Accessories, Lip Sense and lots more!
There will be plenty of low cost and free dog events including a frisbee contest, clay cafe paw print tile ($5), agility, costume contest, introduction to scent training ($10), ugliest dog contest, and a nose work demonstration. The Lubbock Police K9 unit will be providing special demonstrations of their K9 partners in action as well.
There will be several veterinary services for your dog or puppy at the event as well! Live Oak Animal Hospital will be giving the distemper/parvo (DHPP) vaccinations for $5 each and will provide 70 free heart worm tests, Frenship Vet Clinic will be giving rabies vaccines for $9 each, Key Animal Clinic will be giving Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations for $8, and Lubbock Animal Services will be doing microchipping for only $10. Come by the Rocking Paw booth to have your dog’s nails trimmed as well!
Proceeds from the event will go to our goal of $25,000 to install 5 germicidal systems in Lubbock Animal Services stray hold. These systems filter out viruses, bacteria’s, and molds to keep the dogs healthy so we have less euthanizations and more adoptions and rescue pulls.
On Sunday, Sept 10th following the event from 8 am to 8 pm we will hold a silent auction with a variety of items! We will have Veterinary certificates, home decor, gift cards, novelties and more. This will help West Texas Cars for Canines raise the money for the germicidal systems. Log in and join our silent auction group at www.facebook.com/groups/c4csilentauction
