The Big 12 Conference released the league’s composite schedule for the 2017-18 season Thursday afternoon.

The continued growth of our team is exciting and we are eager to perform in front of our loyal fan base.”  

The Lady Raiders announced the non-conference portion of the schedule in July that features nine home games including against two SEC opponents. The conference slate features a double round-robin format for the seventh consecutive year consisting of 18 games with squads playing each other home and away. 

Tech opens Big 12 play at the United Supermarkets Arena against Oklahoma State on Dec. 28. The Lady Raiders will hit the road for their first Big 12 road game on Dec. 31 at Baylor. Texas Tech will then kick off 2018 with a home meeting with Kansas on Jan. 3.

On Jan. 7, the Lady Raiders take on TCU in Fort Worth before a two-game homestand against Oklahoma (Jan. 10) and Iowa State (Jan. 13). 

Three out of the four games to close out January will be on the road just before the Lady Raiders’ bye week. Texas Tech is set for a trip to Kansas on Jan. 17, return home to host Texas for the first time of the season on Jan. 20 and then travel to West Virginia (Jan. 24) and Oklahoma State (Jan. 27).

The bye week allows the Lady Raiders’ a full week rest before their next meeting with Baylor on Feb. 3. 

Texas Tech hits the road for a midweek matchup with Kansas State on Feb. 7 before returning to Lubbock to face West Virginia on Feb. 10.

The Lady Raiders will face another two-game road stretch starting at Texas (Feb. 14) and at Iowa State (Feb. 17) before hosting TCU on Feb. 21.

Tech closes out the road slate at Oklahoma on Feb. 24 before hosting Kansas State in the season finale on Feb. 26

The Lady Raiders open the season at home with an exhibition match up against St. Edward’s on Sunday, Nov. 5. Texas Tech begins the 2017-18 season the following Sunday against Texas State. 

Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena will host the 2018 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship for the sixth time. The tournament begins March 4 with the championship game set for March 7.
