Investigators with the Lubbock Police Department are investigating an early morning stabbing that turned fatal.
At approximately 5:51 Sunday morning, LPD received a call of a disturbance in the area of 5800 Avenue G. The caller advised a fight had just occurred outside a residence and a male had been stabbed.
A male victim was located and transported by ambulance to University Medical Center with life threatening injuries. He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Investigators with the Person Crimes Unit were called to scene to begin a homicide investigation.
At this time the suspect has not been located.
This incident remains under investigation and investigators are working to gather more information on the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
