A local Uber driver wants to warn other drivers within the company the dangers of driving for the company after one of her passengers held her at syringe point.

“I can say after tonight I am no longer an Uber driver. Please, Please, make as many Uber drivers aware as possible. I think a lot of us get so comfortable especially here in Lubbock and we almost don’t think about it,” said the driver.

Some other Uber and Lyft drivers in Lubbock said they’re being extra cautious when picking up riders, since hearing about this incident.

“God only knows what his plan was and where he wanted to take her and what could have happened to her. I am just thankful to know she got out of that situation and it scares me and makes wonder if I even want to continue doing this,” Joyce Lippold, a driver for both Uber and Lyft said.
