This fall, Texas Tech’s fifth-year senior quarterback, Nic Shimonek, will join the long list of Tech quarterbacks who have waited in the wings until their senior years for their shot to start.
One of those quarterbacks that Kingsbury likes Shimonek to, is BJ Symons. Why you ask? Because Kingsbury says Shimonek is fearless.
“Yeah he’s got a real fearlessness about him – he’s a tough kid,” Kingsbury said. “He will fight anybody that steps in front of him. He plays with that type of fire. His teammates love the way he plays. Love that he sat around and waited for four years and put in his time. So there are a lot of parallels that I see, even in the way that they carry themselves that made me say that.”
