Construction workers in the area heard his screams and came to help him fight off the dogs.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Sheriff deputies said that officials are in contact with the owner during this case. They added that now all animals are seized and are being held with Animal Control until a court date is set for a dangerous animal hearing.

There a judge will decide if these dogs are a threat to the community. The outcome could result in euthanization or criminal charges against the owner.

The family of the victim told EverythingLubbock.com that he is expected to be released from University Medical Center sometime Wednesday evening.
