A family in central Lubbock is pleading for the public’s help after they said their puppy Archer, a pitbull mix, was stolen from their backyard.

“My neighbors had cameras around their house and I had asked him if they could see what time he got out the fence and that way we could get an idea on where he went and how long he’d been gone. He told me he had seen somebody take him right out of our back yard,” Gracie Talamantez, the owner of Archer said.

Neighbor, Jerimiah Barrios, said they installed the cameras after their home was broken into several times in the past year. He said the cameras only start recording when they sense motion.

“In the video you can see the dog running back there and there’s a guy and the headlights gets it and that person looks and then he gets the dog and walks off,” Barrios said.

Talamantez said they didn’t know they could report a stolen dog to the police but have been doing everything in the meantime to try and find him.

“When I first heard him say that, I was upset and kind of sad because I don’t know, he’s still a baby and I don’t know what they took him for maybe a dog fight or something like that, he’s still a baby I don’t know where?” Talamantez said.

The family said if you have any information on the whereabouts of Archer to reach out to them on Facebook under the name Gracie Talamantez.
