The popular musical Fiddler on the Roof is being presented by Lubbock Christian University Theatre, Broadway Church of Christ, and Monterey Church of Christ in the McDonald Moody Auditorium on the campus of LCU, Friday, July 21 through Sunday, July 23.
The summer musical provides a unique opportunity for members of the community to participate in musical theatre who may not often get the opportunity to perform. The cast is comprised of members of the Lubbock community, LCU alumni, current students, faculty, staff, and friends.
Debra Rogers, grant writing specialist at The Children’s Home of Lubbock said, “I love theatre and being a part of the LCU summer musicals has given me the chance to follow that passion. I’ve been a part of the LCU summer musicals for several years and it has become like a second family. I am grateful to be able to be a part of it and to share in creativity with others who are so incredibly talented.”
“Fiddler on the Roof is a beloved musical that was first staged in 1964. This is the first production of it at LCU, and we are pleased to gather talent from all over the community to present a quality production. Our cast includes a nurse case manager from Covenant, doctors from Grace Clinic, and several recent LCU graduates, among others. It’s a very talented group of singers.” said Laurie Doyle, chair of the communication/ fine arts department at LCU and stage director for the production.
