We are back to a surplus, at least for the month of July, when we’re talking about rain totals. The year is still in a deficit, but it’s down to .58″. We need to squeeze out some rain today and tomorrow to help that out, but that is going to be hard to do. I am barely going to add an isolated storm to the forecast today and tomorrow at 10%. Lubbock will see mostly sunny skies today, with a high temperature of 96°.

Tomorrow is looking to be very similar to what we’ll see this afternoon. Independence Day is looking to be very seasonal, with warm air and 10-15 mph wind. We’re going to make it up to 97° in Lubbock, with highs closer to 100° in the Rolling Plains. There are many activities going on tomorrow for the holiday, so just remember the sunscreen and to remain hydrated. There will be isolated storms in the evening/overnight at 10%. Watch for lightning, but most will stay dry.
