At approximately 12:30 this morning, officers responded to a home in the 4900 block of 12th Street in reference to shots fired.

Through the initial investigation it appears a 32-year-old male drove to the home and got into a verbal altercation with another male. At some point during the altercation, the 32-year-old struck the other male with his car.

A third male, who was at the home, then fired shots at the car striking the driver twice.

The victim who was struck by the car was taken to Covenant Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. The driver who was shot was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries. It appears his injuries are not life threatening.

The third male who fired the shots left the scene before officers arrived and has not been located.

The circumstances around this incident remains under investigation.
