Just one glass of wine or other alcoholic drink, per day, increased the risk of breast cancer. That’s according to a major report from the American Institute for Cancer Research. The report also found vigorous exercise, such as running, reduces the risk. 

Having a high blood platelet count is a strong predictor of cancer according to a new, large-scale study. A raised platelet count is also known as thrombocytosis. Researchers in England found that more than 11-percent of men and six percent of women over the age of 40 with the condition went on to be diagnosed with cancer within a year.

A new study found 20,000 American children and teens go to the emergency room each year for gun-related injuries. The review by the Children’s National Health System also found almost 40-percent of parents mistakenly believe their children are unaware of where they store their household weapons.
