Job statistics released Friday by the Texas Workforce Commission indicated Lubbock’s unemployment dropped during the month of April.
April’s local unemployment rate was 3.2 percent, down from 4.0 percent in March.
An estimated 154,400 residents in the Lubbock metropolitan statistical area (MSA) were employed last month.
The Texas Workforce Commission said the Amarillo MSA had the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.9 percent.
The Brownsville-Harlingen MSA had the highest unemployment rate at 7.5 percent.
The unemployment rate in Texas remained unchanged at 5.0 percent in April.
