Lubbock Fire Rescue said a fire early Thursday morning was “incendiary” which means the fire was started intentionally. 

There were no reports of injuries and the damage was minimal in the 600 block of 27th Street. 

LFR issued the following statement:

At 1:50 a.m., units from LFR responded to 619 27th for a reported structure fire. Crews arrived to find clothes and mattresses inside the structure on fire. Damage was contained to the contents and the structure was determined to be uninhabited except for possible vagrants. The Fire Marshal’s Office was called to investigate and has ruled the fire as incendiary.
