Matthew Stell is a Multimedia Journalist and Reporter for KAMC-TV in Lubbock, Texas.
Matthew attended the University of Houston where he studied Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Political Science.
While at UH, he served as lead news anchor for the school’s television network CoogTV.
During college, he interned at KLTV in Tyler, Texas, the Texas House of Representatives, and the Dallas County Magistrate’s Office.
Matthew has had the privilege of interviewing Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, and Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta.
In his free time, Matthew enjoys watching football, running, and volunteering with his local church. He is also an international missionary, recently traveling to Belize and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Matthew is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Speech and Debate Association. He is also a Lone Star Emmy Award winner.
Matthew is a native of Dallas, Texas but is proud to be serving the South Plains!
