Super Bowl Week is very busy and filled with activities for fans and players, so it’s easy to get distracted. But not for the Denver Broncos, who took a little time out this week to give back to the Oakland community.
Libby Schaaf, the Mayor of Oakland, shared how much the players reaching out the community meant to her expressing that when you have city children who need more hope and more positive role models, seeing professional athletes talk about not just being great athletes, but the importance of reading books to succeed in school, well, “the generosity and the idea that this leaves is a lasting legacy within the community,” Schaff said.
