TJ Ward is a safety for the Denver Broncos.  Safeties are defensive backs who line up from ten to fifteen yards in front of the line of scrimmage.

Ward was asked about his strategy for the Super Bowl, but when it came to the Panthers’ quarterback, Cam Newton, TJ Ward said in part, “it’s hard to plan for a guy like that.  He has a lot of weapons; we’re just going to try to take all of them away.”

When Ward was asked which player was he looking forward to blocking, Ward said, “I’m looking forward to hitting everybody on the Panthers,” he said as he laughed.

Especially his good friend Jonathan Stewart, also know as ‘J-Stew.’  The two men who went to college together will face each other on the gridiron Sunday.

“J-Stew — we go back — we came to college together, he’s a good friend of mine, and it’s great that we’re both on this stage, but we both have a job to do,” Ward said.
