Tom Brady wants to play quarterback for “maybe 10 more years,” according to an interview he gave back in October.
If he does that, imagine what more he could accomplish.
At 38 years old, Brady is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL (4,770 passing yards this season, 36 TDs). And on Sunday he will play in his 10th AFC Championship game, leading the Patriots into Denver to face the Broncos with a berth in Super Bowl 50 on the line.

This will be Brady’s 5th straight appearance in the AFC Championship game. A win, and he’ll make his seventh appearance in the Super Bowl. He’s won four Super Bowls in his 16-year career. And ultimately, isn’t that how he’ll be judged?
Tom Brady is one of only three quarterbacks in NFL history to win four Super Bowls (Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw), and he was the MVP in three of them (same as Montana).

No quarterback has ever won five Super Bowls. Thus, if the Patriots win this year’s big game, Brady will be in a class all by himself.
Brady has all the accolades of a first-ballot Hall of Famer: four-time Super Bowl champion, three-time Super Bowl MVP, two-time NFL MVP, 11-time Pro Bowler. He’s also the Patriots’ all-time leader in the following categories: passing touchdowns, passing yards, pass completions, pass attempts, career wins, games played.

When you factor in that he was a 6th-round draft pick (2000) and that he missed an entire year (2008) with a torn ACL, you could argue No. 12 is already the best quarterback in NFL history. If he leads the Patriots to two more wins this season, they’ll be the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since…themselves in 2003-2004. And yes, Tom Brady was the quarterback of those teams as well.
