Albuquerque is just 26 days away from this year’s Balloon Fiesta.
Sunday, volunteers prepared for Albuquerque’s biggest event of the year.
Each October, more than 1,000 volunteers, known as navigators, helped out at the International Balloon Fiesta.
Sunday morning at Balloon Fiesta Park, staff hosted a series of basic safety courses for this year’s volunteers.
KRQE News 13 got an inside look from the skies as pilots launched from the field.
“I’ve had a bunch of jobs at Fiesta. it’s a wonderful event for Albuquerque. I enjoy all aspects of it, being a volunteer and helping and flying,” says Neal Smith, pilot.
