Hunter Albonico, 10, ran a lemonade stand as a way to help the homeless in Amarillo, myhighplains.com reported on Sunday. Hunter’s mom, Lacy Albonico is active in helping the homeless community and Hunter decided he wanted to get involved too.

“So I wanted to help and she said, why don’t you do something to make money to help and I said why don’t we do a lemonade stand. So, we started a lemonade stand,” Hunter said.
Lacy explained that it took 22 containers of lemonade, 15 bags of sugar, and 600 cups. Hunter originally set a goal to raise $500, but after only three days, he surpassed that.
With support from his neighbors, police officers, local delivering companies, Wild 104.3 and Tommy The Hacker, he raised $1,000.

With the money raised, Hunter put together bags of snacks for the homeless.
We asked him what made his lemonade taste so good, his answer was “Umm, I don’t know, mom put a lot of sugar in it,” Hunter said.
If you are interested in helping those in need, the Albonico’s suggest contacting Amarillo Housing First or Barry’s Babies.
