Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) contractor Allen Butler is scheduled to close 114th Street, on the east side of the FM 1730 (Slide Road) intersection, to traffic on Friday, June 17. The closure will allow crews to safely remove the temporary hotmix ramps, finish the surface hotmix placement and prepare the intersection for striping.
The closure is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., Friday, and is expected to remain in place until late Friday afternoon. Traffic will be detoured around the area but motorists should expect delays or seek alternate routes around the construction zone. Message boards have been placed alerting motorists of the closure.
The work is part of a $14.1 million project to completely rebuild the existing roadway from a two-lane roadway to a seven-lane, curb and gutter thoroughfare. Project limits are 98th Street to FM 1585.
The work will take place weather permitting.
