Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) contractor Allen Butler is scheduled to close 114th Street, on the west side of FM 1730 (Slide Road), to traffic beginning Monday, April 4. The closure will allow crews to safely rebuild the intersection.
Slide Road traffic will not have access to westbound 114th Street during this time. 114th Street traffic, west of Slide Road, will not be able to continue through the intersection. 114th Street, east of Slide Road, will remain open.
Work to rebuild the intersection is anticipated to take at least eight weeks to complete. Motorists should expect delays and will need to seek alternative routes around the construction zone. Message boards have been placed alerting motorists of the closure.
The work is part of a $14.1 million project to completely rebuild the existing roadway from a two-lane roadway to a seven-lane, curb and gutter thoroughfare. Project limits are 98th Street to FM 1585.
The traffic changes and work will take place weather permitting.
