Police in St. Louis said Andre Montgomery, 21, was shot and killed Monday night.  Officials in Lubbock confirmed that Montgomery was a former student at Estacado High School.

Police said officers were called to the 3900 block of Natural Bridge for the report of a shooting.

Police said, “Victim #1 [Montgomery] was located inside the residence, unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.”

A 26-year-old man was found outside with gunshot wounds to his chest and arm.  He was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

Police said, “[The] investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) shot Victim #1 [Montgomery] inside the residence.”

The 26-year-old man had a gun, according to police, and rushed toward Montgomery to help out, and a third person “fearing for his safety” shot him.

Montgomery was the only name released as of Tuesday afternoon.  Montgomery was listed as a resident of Florissant, which is a suburb of St. Louis.
