23 Personalities, Xander Returns, and a Magical Flute Comes to Lubbock

James McAvoy portrays 23 different personalities in Split. Kevin, the character possessed, abducts three young girls and he, and the others, hold them for “the Beast.” Kevin’s struggle is to hold it together, and hold them captive, as the walls between personalities crumble and the windows into his souls shatter. The thriller runs right at two hours, it’s rated PG-13 and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Live the terror 23 times at Alamo Drafthouse and all other Lubbock theaters.

Vin Diesel comes back in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. He assembles a team of adrenaline junkies to recover a weapon that controls every military satellite. But he gets tangled up in a deadly conspiracy that could involve every world government. It’s rated PG-13 and runs just shy of two hours. Join the thrill in every Lubbock theater.


The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra presents Hayden and Brahms this weekend. They will perform Brahms Symphony Number 4 and the work Variations on a Theme of Joseph Haydn. In between, they will perform Haydn’s Flute Concerto in D major, with a special guest. World-renowned floutist Jasmine Choi joins them.
The performances are Friday and Saturday night only at 7:30 at the Civic Center Theater.
