A 3.5 magnitude earthquake shook Scurry County early Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake occurred at 3:32 a.m. with an epicenter 14 miles north-northeast of Snyder.

There are no reports of damage at this time.

A stronger earthquake was reported in the general area last weekend. That earthquake measured 3.8 on the Richter scale. 

Earthquakes are not uncommon in the Snyder area and have previously been linked to oil drilling activities.

The largest earthquake reported in Scurry County occurred on  September 11, 2011. That earthquake was measured at a 4.3 on the Richter scale.
