A 3.8 magnitude earthquake shook Scurry County Saturday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake occurred at 8:03 p.m. with an epicenter 12 miles north-northeast of Snyder.
There are no reports of damage at this time. The earthquake was felt mostly in Scurry and Fisher County, according to the U.S.G.S.
Earthquakes are not uncommon in the Snyder area and have previously been linked to oil drilling activities.
This was the largest earthquake in Scurry County since September 11, 2011 when a 4.3 magnitude earthquake was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m.
