More than $300,000 worth of marijuana was found during a traffic stop Monday afternoon along Interstate 40 in Potter County.

Potter County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped Giovani Caraballo, 26, and Eli DelaCruz, 27, both from California in a car.  During the traffic stop, deputies became suspicious and a K9 was used around the vehicle.

The K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics and the vehicle was searched.

Deputies found three suitcases containing 56 bags of marijuana, weighing about 50 lbs.

Caraballo and DelaCruz were arrested for felony possession of marijuana and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
