LUBBOCK, Tx — TJ Vasher, a four-star wide receiver from Wichita Falls Rider High School, committed to Texas Tech on Friday, as part of the 2016 class.

One of the quickest things that jumps out about Vasher is his size. His high school coach Marc Bindel raved about his size and athleticism, even listing the wideout “closer to six-foot-six than six-foot-five.”

“When we get a first down inside the 20, we like to hurry up and just throw fades, lobs up to him,” Bindel said. “He probably caught 70-percent of our touchdowns [on that play]…it’s a sight to see!”

Vasher marks the Red Raiders 14th commitment of the 2016 class, and according to Rivals.com is currently Tech’s highest rated prospect. With signing day still eight months away, Texas Tech will surely have to fend off other schools in the market for his talents, however, Coach Bindel says they have no reason to worry.

“One of the reasons why I love him is he’s so loyal,” said the Wichita Falls Rider head coach. “We’re all very very close, and when he came back from his Texas Tech visit he was very excited,” Bindel said. “The relationships he developed with those coaches [made him] very excited.”
