Celebrate Our Nation’s Birthday at the 46th Annual Firecracker Run
The West Texas Running Club (WTRC) presents the 46th Annual Firecracker Run in Brownfield, Texas.
The Firecracker Run is the 7th of 13 club races put on each year by the WTRC.
Originally created by Brownfield residents Gene Adams and James Morris, the Firecracker Runs are a very special event for the club and holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously run road race in the State of Texas.
Offering a 1 mile, 3 mile and 10 mile races, this event provides a race for everyone in the family. Get in shape, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and celebrate our nation’s birthday at the 46th Annual Firecracker Run!
WHEN: Saturday, July 4, 2015 Races Start: 7:40 a.m. 1 Mile and 8:00 a.m. 3 and 10 Mile Bib/Chip Pick-up closes at 7:30 a.m.
WHERE: Coleman Park / Terry County Park – Brownfield, Texas Directions from Lubbock, TX: US Highway 62/82 to Brownfield (approx. 40min) Turn Left at East Buckley St – Follow to Right onto Old Lamesa Rd Start line is on second street around corner from swimming pool
WHAT: 1 Mile Elementary Run: Grades K thru 6 3 Mile and 10 Mile – Chip Timed Races *Minimum ages: 4yrs. for 1 Mile, 10 yrs. for 3 Mile, 16 yrs. for 10 Mile Refer to WTRC’s Children’s Running Policy
COST: $5.00 West Texas Running Club (WTRC) Members $15.00 Non-members: Ages 16+ *1 Mile Run: Ages 4-12yrs. $1.00 *3 Mile Run: Ages 10-15yrs. $5.00 Online Registration Closes Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. No Race Day Registration *Register and Join the WTRC online at wtrunning.com.
NOTE: Our Insurance prohibits strollers, roller blades, pets and bicycles on the run course.
