The 4th Annual Scottish Ceilidh & Robert Burns Supper will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017, 6 p.m., at the TTU International Cultural Center, 601 Indiana Avenue.
This celebration will continue to highlight Scottish heritage and the living legacy of Scotland’s Poet Laureate, Robert Burns (1759-1796).
Activities for the evening include:
Readings from the poems of Robert Burns; brief lecture on the life and times of Robert Burns; prime rib dinner with neeps, tatties, haggis, salad, dessert, tea; two complimentary tastings of scotch; piping of the haggis into the dining room; ‘Toast to the Lassies and response to the Laddies’; and concert by Dàimh.
Dàimh are based in Lochaber in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. A long established favourite at folk festivals in Scotland, Ireland and across Europe, twice nominated for Folk Band of the Year at the Scots Traditional Music Awards, Dàimh are also regulars on BBC television.
The event is open to the general public and, as always, traditional Scottish attire including kilts, are encouraged.
