On Tuesday, October 25th a contractor working on the 98th Street Paving Project hit a water line in 98th Street just west of University Avenue. City of Lubbock Pipeline Maintenance crews are currently working to shut the water off.
The crews are operating valves located in the intersection of 98th Street and University Avenue. Several traffic lanes are reduced at this intersection while the crews work to shut off the water and repair the water main.
Please avoid the 98th Street and University Avenue intersection if possible. If drivers cannot find an alternate route, they are asked to please slow down and use caution when driving in the area.
Crews are working diligently to prevent any water service outages, but some customers may experience low water pressure. There is no estimated time for repairs to be completed at this time.
