The Abilene Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at a local sports bar, resulting in multiple injuries.
The incident occurred at MC’s Sports Bar, located on the 4200 block of North 1st Street, around 1:00 a.m.
“Early information indicated two victims were both stabbed and shot by (4) suspects, one of which is known to one of the victims,” Abilene Police Chief Stan Standridge stated in a news release Sunday morning.
“Three other victims suffered minor injuries associated with either glass or shrapnel.”
Abilene Police said nobody has been taken into custody for the shooting at this time. Standridge says the motive appears to be criminal in nature.
Authorities said most victims are believed to be in stable condition, but one person had to be flown via medical helicopter to a hospital in Lubbock. The extent of that person’s injuries is unknown at this time.
