Abilene Police are searching for a suspect who escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash after a bank robbery in central Abilene Tuesday morning.
The suspect is accused of entering the First Bank Texas on the 1800 block of South 1st Street around 7:30 a.m. and holding employees at gunpoint until he gained access to an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police, who say no one was harmed during the robbery.
Police are telling the public this suspect is a black male, 150 pounds, who is about 5’6″ inches tall. No further description was released.
Police scanner traffic said the suspect was wearing blue jeans and a denim jacket. The scanner traffic also indicated he was carrying a black duffle bag.
The FBI is on scene and involved in the investigation.
