Abilene Police are backing an initiative to instate a city-wide juvenile curfew.
Chief of Police Stan Standridge presented a preliminary plan during a budget hearing on Tuesday morning, but nothing is set in stone.
Councilman Anthony Williams brought this idea to Chief Standridge many years ago, and due to the rising rate of crime, he’s considering putting it into effect.
If other councilmen like the idea, it will move on to City Council meetings and public hearings so parents and community members can express their thoughts and concerns.
