Over $34,000!

That’s how much an Abilene teen has raised in just one month and all that money is going towards benefiting sick children right here in the Key City.

Brenden Baker, 13, was born with a rare form of dwarfism which requires him to be on oxygen at all times. It’s also the reason he’s only 27 inches tall and weighs 24 pounds.

Brenden has been in and out of the hospital all his life.

The Children’s Miracle Network at Hendrick Medical Center has always been there to support him.

For his 13th birthday, Brenden decided to start a GoFundMe page for the organization with hopes of raising $500 and it just took off from there.

“Help children get better, get well and do more therapy.” says Baker, “It feels good.”

“13 years ago, we never even dreamed of stuff like this,” says Chris Baker, Brenden’s dad, “We never even dreamed that things like this could happen but he has made it happen and he’s one of those selfless kids that does things for others.”

The Children’s Miracle Network plans on using the money to provide proper medical equipment to Hendrick Medical Center, as well as Xboxes and other toys and games to entertain the patients.

“With the donations and stuff that we’re having and knowing that were going to help it just brings a tear to the eye,” says Brenden’s Dad, Chris.
