The Abilene Zoo has a sweet surprise for guests this summer.
Three flamingo chicks arrived earlier this week, and it seems like mom and dad are getting into the swing of things.
“The parents are doing a great job caring for the chicks,” said Abilene Zoo Executive Director Bill Gersonde.
“Lucky guests might be able to catch a look at the young when the parents stand to feed the chicks or as the chicks begin to wander off the nest over the next few days.”
This comes after a hail storm interrupted the nesting season and killed four birds in June 2014.
Check out the Wetlands Boardwalk exhibit if you want to catch a glimpse of the zoo’s newest additions.
