Women across the region remember the impact Abilene’s only midwife had on their lives in the wake of her passing on Friday.
Carol Hutson served the Abilene area for years and was beloved by the mothers she assisted during birth.
Hutson ran Tiny Blessings Maternity Care, and on the company’s website, she says, “I have been attending women for 30 years. After all this time, I am still filled with excitement each time I hear the baby for the first time, get the call to attend a birth, or stand watching as a couple gets to know their new born babe in the comfort of their own home. Abilene Birth & Doula Associates says there are no local midwives now that Hutson has passed away. They recommend women seeking midwife services reach out to midwives in San Angelo or Lubbock.
