Emergency responders were called to the 1400 block of Research Boulevard near Reese Center Saturday morning for a vehicle accident.
At about 10:30, the vehicle crashed through a fence and stopped in a playa lake. It took about 30 minutes to get a person out of the vehicle.
Police said It appears the crash was caused because the driver suffered from a medical condition. He was driving northbound, and then veered across to the southbound lane, ending up in the lake. He was taken to Covenant Medical Center with minor injuries.
Lubbock Police, DPS, the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department, Lubbock Fire Rescue, West Carlisle Fire and EMS all responded.
