This afternoon was one of the top best days so far this year. High temperatures peaked in the 70s today thanks to a strong southwesterly wind sustained at 20 mph. If you’re a fan of this warmer weather unfortunately you’re out of luck. Things will change big time come tonight. Temperatures tonight will be fairly mild with lows in the mid 40s, but by the early morning hours a cold front will help to bring our high temperatures back to average come tomorrow. High temperatures tomorrow will reach the upper 40s to lower 50s by the afternoon, but a strong northerly wind will make it feel much colder than that. This cold front isn’t expected to bring any precipitation into the forecast, just an increase in cloud cover tomorrow.

Clouds and breezy conditions look to stick around for much of the forecast over the next several days with no precipitation in sight. Due to the steady cloud cover throughout the week, temperatures won’t fluctuate much. High temperatures throughout the week look to remain in the mid 50s across the South Plains, reaching the 60s by the weekend.
