Happy Monday everyone! It has been another sunny and hot day across the South Plains with highs moving back into the triple digits. This will be short-lived though as our next cold front moves into the region this afternoon and stalls out for a day before finally clearing out on Wednesday. This will lead to a slow cool down with highs moving into the upper 90’s tomorrow and the low 90’s on Wednesday. As the front clears the region, we will watch for a slight chance for some showers overnight Tuesday into early Wednesday morning. Thankfully, at this time we are not expecting any severe storms. The remainder of the work week forecast will include temperatures in the low to mid-90’s and abundant sunshine. That means it important to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Also, make sure to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated throughout the day.
