Ag Journal Weather Forecast – Week of June 3rd

Happy Monday everyone! It has been a beautiful start to the work week with abundant sunshine and temperatures sitting in the low 80’s. This afternoon the dry line will set up to our West in Eastern New Mexico which will allow for another round of strong to severe storms to form and move across the South Plains bringing the risk of large hail and damaging wind gusts through early tomorrow morning. The Storm Prediction Center has placed us under the Slight Risk Category so it is important to stay weather aware, bring your pets inside and cover your vehicles. Storm chances will continue on and off tomorrow, Wednesday and will even linger into early Thursday morning, but thankfully the severity will decrease each day. Temperatures will have an opposite trend, increasing each day, moving back into the mid-90′s by Saturday. Sunshine will return Thursday afternoon and will stick around all weekend so make sure to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours!
