Marisol Aguero, 25, was released from jail on Friday after posting bond. She stands indicted on one count of sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child.
She was arrested on May 14 on the first charge and was then able to post a $75,000 bond to get out of jail the next day. More victims then came forward and police filed more charges. She was re-arrested on May 19.
On May 26 she was held in lieu of bonds totaling $275,000, and her defense attorney Rod Hobson filed a motion to reduce those bonds.
The motion said, “Petitioner’s bonds are excessive, oppressive and beyond the financial means of Petitioner in violation of the Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution.”
It also said “[Aguero] has significant ties to this community and has never before been convicted of a felony in this jurisdiction or any other.”
The Presiding Judge of the 364th State District Court, William R. Eichman, scheduled a hearing for Friday morning. By Friday evening, Marisol’s bonds were lowered from $275,000 to $105,000, and she was out of jail.
In the first criminal charge filed against Aguero, court records said she was harboring a 15-year-old runaway girl. Police observed Aguero and the girl “making out” in front of a house in the 5400 block of Avenue A.
Court records said the runaway girl had started the practice of cutting herself. Aguero knew the girl because she had previously been the girl’s softball coach.
In the other two cases Aguero was accused of using a fake Facebook profile and dressing like a male in order to get close to underage girls.
